Shining Salt Foundation works closely with Light Kids School in Andhra Pradesh, India to educate disadvantaged youth. This rural K-12 English school provides little to no cost academics, room, and board to Dalit children in India. This advanced education is generally never available to the Dalit community due to caste discrimination, as they were traditionally called “untouchables” and not worthy of the gift of education. We believe all are made in the image of God and worthy!

Typically an English education is not available to the poor, rural communities in India. English education is valuable for competitive jobs, wages and opportunities in the Indian workforce.  Traditionally, English schools were inaccessible in this region until the school opened in 2012: Light KIDS English Medium School. 

Since 2012, this school has had the opportunity to educate over 180 children. They are in dire need of sponsorship. You can help! Sponsoring child through their primary education through high school ensures them a lifetime of valuable skills and opportunity. Please pray to see if sponsoring a child would be on your heart!
